I'm a Cowboy

I thought was the funnest thing- We have had a cheap dollar store cowboy hat floating around our house for a few years now. Well Addison found it and had to wear it while she was going to the bathroom. While sitting on the pot she would say "I'm a cowboy" in a really ruff voice. it was so funny I kept making her say it. Well after getting done with her business I grabbed the camera to take a video, and by that time Trent told her she was not a cowboy. So it took a little bit of bribing to get this out of her.

Stepping up to a Challange

I was not in the same room when this whole challenge went down, but Trent and Ethan must have been pretty bored. Trent challenged Ethan to run around the tree in our front yard- barefoot. I wonder if Trent just wanted to know if he would do it or not and I think of course he is going to do it you are his hero. So here is Ethan stepping up to his challenge.

After I saw the video I told Trent that he should do the same challenge- to make things "fair" and so this is Trent and Addison stepping up to the challenge.

Ethan's 5th birthday

I know that this is a little after the fact, his birthday was on December 8th,
but I still really want to post about my BIG little man, Ethan Ethan is definitely a natural leader. I constantly tell him that he needs to always be a good example to those around him because if he does it then those around him will follow him- Not only does Addison copy him in everything he does many of the kids a preschool watch him and follow him. I am always surprised at the amount of energy that Ethan has. He can go and go and then still want to go some more. This has been hard for us right now, because I am constantly tired and he wants someone to play with, or go outside or play a game or do a "cool craft project" Sometimes I feel like I cant keep up with him. Here we are enjoying Ethan birthday cake that he helped to make. The picture below of the whole cake with the piece missing is the piece that he wanted, a piece from the middle- can you blame him?
I want Ethan to know that he is such a great big brother and son and in the recent weeks has really stepped up and helped me out with so many things. He is so good at cleaning up after a meal, making his bed, writing his name, sounding out words, entertaining us, loving for those around him and so much more.
It is hard for me to think that I have a 5 year old but at the same time I love it.

The love of a TuTu

My mom got a wonderful idea from my sister-in-law Carolynn, it was how to make these cute little Tutus. My mom not only made one for Addison but for my friend, Meaghan's two daughters as well. I think that they turned out very cute.
Addison can often be found dancing around in her tutu. She has also slept in it. Ethan has wore it on his head, so has Dad. I love that it entertains Addison. I guess you could say that they whole family just loves the tutu. Thanks so much mom! I think that I am going to make a tiny one for Milton, what do you think?

That tickels

For the past day Addison has found it hard to make it to the bathroom, so we have had several accidents. As Trent and I were talk about what we could do we remembered how we use to clean Ethan up in the bathtub with cool water so we were going to try this with Addison. Well she had her second accident today while we were a Ethan school to pick him up, as soon as we got home she went to the bathroom and then into the tub with the cold water, well I soaped her down then I started to rinse her off- she has screamed in the past- I know taht I would scream to if I had cold water running down my legs so I can really blame her- but instead of screaming she starts laughing - LOUD and saying "Mom that tickles, Mom that tickles" Inside I was laughing my head off but I just pulled her out of the tub, dried her off and sent her to her room to get dressed so I could call Trent and share- What am I going to do with this child???

Random Pictures taken in November

Thanksgiving 2008

This year we went to Billings for Thanksgiving, we had a wonderful time and it was really nice to get out of town! We went shooting at the Rod and Gun club that Trent's sister manages. It was really fun to watch Ethan shoot guns. Trent's brother Bart was there and brought a machine gun of sorts-I don't really know what it is was- but I do know that it was a big gun and that it was pretty fun to shoot. I wonder what Milton thought about the experience she didn't move much while we were shooting- she was probably covering her ears- We are so glad that we were about to spend time with family during the Thanksgiving season.
