I have a Kindergartner

Ethan was a little nervous on his first day of school, but very excited.

I have to be to work by 8:00 and school doesn't start until 8:20 so he hung around with me until school started. He knows several kids in his class from preschool and church so I think that helped to ease his nerves.

When I picked him up the first day he was so excited and ready for the next day- Yeah!!

The other day Ethan's was complaining about his neck hurting at breakfast. Trent told him that he probably slept on it wrong. Ethan replied with "no it hurt yesterday to." And Trent said "well then you must have sleep on it wrong the night before too". Ethan said "no, my neck hurts because I have to hold my neck like this to do math" and he looks down. that darn math. When I ask Ethan what they did at school he says "I don't know I have to much math going around in my head" I am starting to wonder if math is not going to be one of his best subjects.

Addison's Birthday

Addison's birthday snuck up on me this year. The day before her birthday I started my new job as the paraprofessional (assistant) teacher for Addison preschool class. So I was pretty busy getting new hire stuff done- then I realized oh yeah I need to get Addison's birthday "stuff," like cake , ice cream, balloons, etc. I already had her gifts, so i guess that is why I wasn't to worried. But I totally cheated on the cake and just got cupcakes it worked just fine.

She had a blast opening presents this year.

Here she is dressed up in her dancing clothes,

as she calls them.

She bit down on Trent's finger really hard when he asked her to lick the icing off her finger.

She didn't eat her cupcake at all, but she did lick off ALL the icing. Funny Girl!
Addison has been such a great addition to our family. She loves to care for others, help in the kitchen, sing, dance, and following Ethan around. Sometimes I think she is 3 going on 16 with some of the things she does. Thanks for all of the laughs , we love you very much Addison!
Kallie was just happy to be sitting up. She is so happy- most of the time :)

Wood gathering

Well we are now true Wyomingites. We bought a truck it is a 1995, not in the best shape,
but we can go get wood- YEAH. Trent and I had been considering buying a truck so that we could be more self sufficient and not have to barrow all the time. We got a pretty good deal and have already gotten 2 cords of wood with it. I has felt so good not to have to rely on others.

Ethan climbed this tree on our first family wood gathering expedition.

He climbed pretty high and was so proud of himself.

On the way home he fell asleep- what an awkward way to use the seat belt strap- but it worked.

Trip to Logan

One of Trent's life time friends got married on Aug 8. So we thought it would be good to go and support him. While there we went boating with the Hansens. (we stayed at the Hansen Bed and Breakfast, good place they are very welcoming and tend to your every need, my kids loved it as did I- thanks again guys)

Nick's Wedding
Nick and Andrea
Trent and Nick
They had the wedding in a person back yard the house was beautiful, it is a second home the family currently lives back east and the children stay at the house while going to collage. It was a small wedding, but sweet. It was at the wedding that Ethan was offered his first drink of alcohol. A couple of the boys about 10-12 years old got a hold of a few bottles of beer (it was EVERYWHERE so I am sure it wasn't that hard). Well, Ethan was walking around and I guess he stumbled upon them and they told him he could have a drink. In his words " they told me I could have a drink of beer" I am not sure Ethan really knew what was in the bottles, but he said no anyways. As he told us on our way home we were shocked but proud and used it as a teaching moment.

Nick got married extremely close to the Bountiful temple where Trent and I got married so we decided that we would stop by on the way back to Logan and take a picture. As of Aug 3rd we have been married for 7 years. Wow- time flies. It is fun to look back at all of the fun times and hard times that we have shared. We now have three beautiful children. I feel like we have accomplished so much together being married has been everything and nothing that I thought it would be. We have has a great 7 years together with many more to follow.

Ethan took this picture of us.

I did it under Ethans Bed

On August 5 as I was getting everything ready to go to Logan, I went to check on the kids in Ethan's room. Addison was crawling out from under Ethan's bed with her scissors in her hand. I immediately took them away from her and took her that is was a very bad choice to crawl under the bed with scissors. I then went to put up her scissors and she come up to me and tells me that she needs them back so that she can cut her hair- WHAT. she repeats herself- WHAT. It is then that I noticed that she had already done the deed. so wen had a VERY lengthy talk about who cuts her hair- what she cuts with scissors and that she should never take scissors under the bed. - AHHHHH. Goodness. I had just given Addison her first haircut in June is was about 2 1/2 inches off the back. And the girl doesn't have much hair to start with- well after I assessed what was left I trimmed her hair here are the before and after.
Before
After

She took a whack at the back part of her hair.
The first thing Ethan said was "she looks like a boy"

This is part of the hair that I found under the bed.

Kallie turned 5 months

Kallie turned 5 months on Aug 6th. As I have pulled out the infant girl clothes I am reminded at how small Addison was at this age. I believe Addie wore size 0-3 until she was almost 6 months old. Kallie on the other had is ready for 6-9 soon, as she should be she is almost 6 months old as I write this post.

At the beginning of her fifth month she was learning how to sit up, she is now a pro.

This month she has had a REALLY hard time sleeping through the night- why did I do this to myself. Trent and I have decided that it was probably the affects of going to Utah, where she slept with me, then for the month of July after she would wake up for her 5:30 am feeding I would leave her in bed with me, then we went to Utah again and she slept with us. she had done so well up to this point we are in the process of tough love and letting her cry things out. It is very hard but in the long run I know that it is for the best. I haven't really had to go through this with my other two (they have always been GREAT sleepers). She has gone from waking 4-5 times to 1 time a Night- I hope she keeps up the good work-wink wink.

Even though she is waking up in the middle of the night she is still VERY happy. A blessing.
